The young Institute of the Pious Mothers of Negritude found itself in a phase between the devastation of the traumatic experience of the sisters imprisoned in Sudan, and the apostolic zeal inherited from the foundress, which would give rise to new missionary initiatives. The major concern during this period was the final and clear approval of the Constitution, which at this point had to be revised and rewritten several times until its final approval in 1912. This period of our history tries to show, understand and assimilate the whole journey of our first sisters, after Mahdia, towards the outbreak of the First World War.
Objective
- To recall the steps taken to obtain the definitive approval of our Constitutions, because this fundamental step in our history consolidates the institution of the Pie Madri della Nigrizia.

Contemplative Time
Prayer of Abandonment
Father,
I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.

Let only your will be done in me,
and in all your creatures –
I wish no more than this, O Lord.

Into your hands I commend my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,
for you are my Father.
