Monsignor Comboni was convinced of the evangelising and effective presence of women in the mission of Central Africa. For them, the beginnings of the opening of our missions clearly show us that the mission Comboni wanted was a mission without borders, stretching from 1933 to 1958. For example, in August 1879, the second novitiate for women opened in Africa, in El Obeid, with Fortunata Quasce and Domitilla Bakhita, Sudanese by birth. In December 1888, the third novitiate was also opened in Cairo.
The first seeds of openings were sown in Egypt, from where the congregation expanded to the rest of Africa. In August 1888, with Mgr Sogaro, it was decided to open new communities for women.
